Mãe d'Água das Amoreiras Reservoir
National monument with impressive architecture
Built between 1746 and 1834, the reservoir is an integral part of the Águas Livres Aqueduct and serves as a water deposit, distributing water to certain areas of the city. The structure, which impresses with its grandeur and architecture, stands out for its central area, arches and pillars, reminiscent of a cathedral.
Mãe d'Água das Amoreiras is a cultural space where you can learn about the history of Lisbon's water supply and how it influenced the development of the city itself. On the terrace, a panoramic view of Lisbon completes the experience.
